“我的教育经历绝对不是标准的，”CCV校友Renae DiGregorio说。 但是，遵循标准并不总是意味着成功。 Renae has multiple accomplishments under her belt, including becoming a recent graduate of 尚普兰大学 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting while being a new mom of two and working full-time for the state of Vermont.

When she graduated from high school, to the surprise of many of her peers, Renae decided to forgo college (for the time being) and jump into the workforce. 她广泛的兴趣爱好意味着她无法缩小教育的范围，所以她开始在当地的信用合作社工作，并在20岁时在佛蒙特州的税务部门工作。 “税收并不适合所有人，”她说。 “但我爱上了它。”

After working for the state for a couple of years, she learned about CCV’s 先前学习评估 program, which offers credit for knowledge gained in the workplace. Renae说：“我当时想，‘我已经有几年的工作经验了，我想知道我是否可以从这里开始，开始我的学位。’” She took the 先前学习评估 (APL) course, a three-credit, semester-long course where students create a portfolio documenting their learning in a variety of subject areas, allowing them to earn credits for what they know.

CCV offers a seamless 转移途径 to Champlain, ensuring that credits earned at CCV will be accepted as credits towards a bachelor’s degree. 尚普兰会计项目也吸引了蕾妮的注意，因为它是一个在线项目，有速成课程，适合她繁忙的日程。 She graduated from Champlain with her B.S. in accounting at the end of the fall 2024 semester with sigma honors.

Renae目前是佛蒙特州税务部门的财务助理主任，她说CCV帮助她在职业生涯中取得了今天的成就：“（CCV）教会了我很多人际交往技巧，帮助我成为一个更好的领导者和沟通者。” 未来，她计划继续攻读公共管理硕士学位，并成为一名注册会计师。
